English: Tarong Station, ca. 1905.
Hector Munro, surveyor of the South Burnett area, established a camp on the Bunya Mountains and surveyed the township of Nanango. He married Mary (Polly) Kendall, sister of Annie Clapperton. He was known for his vast knowledge and for his rapport with the local Aborigines. He lived his final days on Tarong Station. He died on 18 December 1930. He and Mary are buried at Brackenridge Cemetery, Bald Hills. |
