Deutsch: Beim Zeitraffer handelt es sich um eine filmische Methode zur Verlangsamung der Darstellung von Bewegungsabläufen, bei der die Bildfrequenz der Aufnahmekamera im Verhältnis zur Abspielfrequenz herabgesetzt wird. Werden die Aufnahmen dann mit normaler Geschwindigkeit abgespielt, scheint der aufgenommene Vorgang schneller abzulaufen. Dadurch werden auch Änderungen sichtbar, die in Echtzeit aufgrund ihrer langsamen Natur vom Menschen nicht oder nur schwer wahrnehmbar sind.
English: Time-lapse photography is a cinematography technique whereby each film frame is captured at a rate much slower than it will be played back. When replayed at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing. Time-lapse photography can be considered to be the opposite of high speed photography.
