This user account is a perlwikipedia-based bot operated by Ilmari Karonen (talk). It is not a sock puppet, but rather an automated or semi-automated account for making repetitive edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually. This bot ran on the Toolserver. Toolserver stopped operating on July 1, 2014, at which point all tools not migrated to the new Labs environment stopped functioning. Operators were advised to move their bots to Toollabs (now Toolforge).

This bot runs on the Wikimedia Toolserver, and edits once a week to update Commons:MIME type statistics (and its Unusual types subpage). The bot is written in Perl; the source code is available for review. It's quickly written and not very pretty, but it does the job.
