- English: Bir Tawil is an area along the border between Egypt and Sudan, which is claimed by neither country (terra nullius). Note that the territory is not (as often claimed in the Internet) fully uninhabitated, but that local tribes have claims there, and permanent residents operate in mines. As of 2025, the ongoing civil war in Sudan also attracted mercenary groups and weapon dealers to set up shop in Bir Tawil.
