This locator map image could be re-created using vector graphics as a SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If a SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}. It is recommended to name the SVG file “BlankMap-World-2000.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.

Blank map of the world showing 2000 borders (i.e. before 9/11 and the independence of E. Timor and Montenegro). Based off Image:BlankMap-World.png; as it is PD, this is too.

This could be used from the period between May 24, 1993 (Eritrea splits from Ethiopia), February 22, 1994 (South Africa returns Walvis Bay to Namibia), and May 20, 2002 (East Timor independent from Indonesia) - (ignoring Hong Kong and Macau's return to China in 1997 and 1999 respectively)
