File:CivilKapokFlag.svg

Linking to the flag above, this flag is used by a Twitter based fringe group, wrongly claiming it to be the flag of Cantonese independence. The uploader of this, along with other people uploading related "Cantonese independence flags" are Hong Kong based individuals with proven sockpuppets trying to legitimize a non-representative flag, with the usual consequence of it being defused to wider (Western) audiences by simply being on Commons. The last deletion request of the related flag with the kapok flower didn't end up with deletion simply due to a lack of interest. HolonZeias (talk) 16:22, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

COM:INUSE, so needs to be kept unless there's a copyright problem. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:33, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
I don't know what do you mean.
1. Who are the proven sockpuppets?
2. The file is a very useful alternative once the Kapok Flag image file is deleted due to whatever reasons in any language versions of Wikipedia. Like Chinese Wikipedia in 2020 when this file was uploaded.
3. No matter the users of Kapok Flag are fringe groups or not, when they use Kapok Flag as flag of Cantonese independence, Kapok Flag is one of the flags of Cantonese independence. I don't see what was wrongly claimed there. Can you show us your logic? Like why is it wrong and which flag is correct? 筆和擦膠必有用 (talk) 02:42, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
